about the site

The website is modeled after the simple table-inspired layouts of the World Wide Web of 90s to early 2000s. This is what the Web looked like when I took my personal first steps into a wider world and since then I have always loved the aesthetics that most web designers nowadays shy away from. Although I will admit I've toned some of the usual outrageousness down just a bit.

This site was conceived when I got frustrated with what the internet has become in the last decade. Gone are the personal websites people used to build as labors of love and to mark their unique presence on the web. They've been replaced by faceless and tasteless social media giants and blog platforms which lack the flair that personal websites used to have. Nowadays computers and websites require no special knowledge, and while this has undisputed advantages to the masses, it takes away from the literal idea of a living web of content. In my opinion, this development is a real shame.

Keeping it as real as possible, all the coding is done in VSCode the way it used to be in 1996. Any minimal images are created using GIMP.

The site is hosted at Neocities.org which is a free web hotel carrying on the legacy of Geocities. To those who weren't around, Geocities was a place in the early web to host free websites and in its heyday boasted millions of unique sites.

about the webmaster

And finally a section about myself as all decent websites should have.

I started using computers at the early age of three and got into HTML at around eight or nine. I've been creating websites forever but only recently emerged from my dark ages.

In addition to creating websites my hobbies include video games (although I don't have the time as I used to anymore), listening to 80s music (all bangers btw) and studying Japanese (intermittently, I'm afraid).

I collect handheld gaming systems. I think I have two Gameboy Advances, one Gameboy Color, one Nintendo DS Lite, three Nintendo 3DS's, three Playstation Vitas + a Vita TV, and one PSP. I might create a dedicated page to video games and systems I like, we'll see.
